MATCH RULES

  1. All matters relating to these matches will be dealt with by the Match Secretary (or designate) and their word will be final.
  2. All members must vacate the match venue by midnight on the eve of any match listed in the match calendar.
  3. Waters will reopen for general fishing 2 hours after the end of the match.
  4. There will be no entry fee and pools will be optional.
  5. Any competitor adjudged to be responsible for litter on the bank of their swim will be automatically disqualified.
  6. No ‘pegged down’ matches will be allowed, except those sanctioned by the General Committee.
  7. Only one rod per angler to be fished at any one time in Club, Interclub or IPA matches. 2 rods may be used in night and pike matches, spacing to comply with club and match specific rules.
  8. Pike, zander and crustacians do not count towards the final weight in Club, Interclub or IPA matches.
  9.  No bloodworm or joker will be permitted for use in any club match.
  10. Competitors draw a number from the hat and will fish from the corresponding peg positioned along the venue unless advised to the contrary at the draw.
  11. Upon arrival at their peg, anglers may plumb the depth, position keepnets and mix groundbait but must not introduce any bait or commence fishing.
  12. Competitors may only introduce feed and fish with baited hook between the ‘fish’ time stated; the ‘all-in’ and ‘all-out’ being signalled by the sounding of a whistle.
  13. When time is called anglers must cease fishing.  In the event an angler is playing a fish as time is called they will have a maximum of 15 minutes to land the fish for it to be counted.
  14. In the interests of fish welfare, no barbel or fish over 10lb in weight are to be retained in keepnets.  Should such fish be captured, the angler should seek a nominated scales person to weigh and witness the fish before it is returned.
  15. Where silver fish and ‘specimen’ fish in excess of 3lb are likely to feature in weights, anglers are encouraged to use a separate keepnet for the specimen fish.
  16. For details relating to the Night Matches and a copy of the Match Rules, please contact the Night Match Organiser Andy Knight 07904 302920.

In the event that any Club match venue is unfishable the reserve venue is The Airman, which will remain open to all members.
